The Minivan

The entire crew is all back together this week. We get some good sports talk in this week, between the restart of hockey and the coaching carrousel in the NFL, and the guys rip on Sean’s Lakers. The guys have spent a lot of time in some sports bars watching bowl games and playoffs with other sports fans, which don’t have the class and tact that we exude. We discuss the finer points of how to watch sporting events in a public forum. Berg can’t pick a topic, so Sean revisits something he forgot from last week’s episode, the Portland International Car Show. Berg finally gets his head on straight and asks the guys whom their favorite “supporting role” in a comic book is. Which leads into a discussion, which we’re sure we’ve had on this show, “who played Batman/Bruce Wayne the best?” And as we come close to the close of our first year, we discuss possibly changing the name of the podcast.

Magic Sean

With the crazy amount of noise from last week’s National Night Out, we decided to record from the “Library” that is Sean and Tucker’s living room. However, we are sans Tucker this week. As summer winds down, we have another Casey Movie Pick! This weekend Premium Rush hits theaters and we can’t help but wonder, is Joseph Gordon Levitt going to take his shirt off to make this a legitimate Casey Movie Pick? Lance brings some MLB news in the form of Melky Cabrera’s 50 game suspension and King Felix’s perfect game (3rd one in the majors this season). Lance also has a question for all you listeners…what computer should he get to help with podcasting? Comment with your suggestions below. Money leaves early, so Lance and Sean dive into the DC Universe on film and writing in the comic industry. Sean also brings up some fun things to do in Portland this weekend, starting with Hecklevision at Hollywood Theater on Friday night. Then on Saturday, Laurelwood Brewery is having their annual LaurelFest. This is a day full of beer & liquor tastings, live music, and mini golf. On Sunday, Zach’s Shack on Hawthorne is hosting their annual Hot Dog Eating Contest with a $5 entry. Summer is nearly over, what are your plans this weekend?

Tiki Talks: Dark Knight Rises

Berg, Lance, and Sean went and saw the midnight IMAX show of Dark Knight Rises. The first few minutes are spoiler free, but after that...all bets are off. We kept it pretty tame as far as spoiling it goes, but we wanted to give you a heads up if you haven't seen the movie.

Catch It On the Edit

Hey, we finally got both mics working! Now that that problem is solved, we can focus on more Money one liners, which I know you love twice as much as we do. But now down to business, taco business that is, or lack there of for Sean & Money. Since we didn't have another bro-fest like we did last weekend, we get caught up on all the weekend shenanigans and almost skip right over Money's West Seattle Beer Dash. But who cares about Seattle? At least the "Portland Hipsters" don't. Lance manages to tell us about ONE of his favorite sporting events, while the rest of us drone on about 2, 3 or more. And now that we're getting a little older, we can discuss, at great lengths, (adult) furniture. What would Taco Tiki Tuesday be without a little nerd banter? We discuss an epic battle or wits, gadgets and sexual prowess of who would win...Doctor Who vs. James Bond vs. Batman? Let's hear your thoughts on the subject below and vote on our Facebook page of who you think would win.
