Josh Williamson

This week we have up and coming comic book writer, Josh Williamson. Josh writes Voodoo and Uncharted for DC Comics and has written young readers books for Oni Press. His book Dear Dracula is currently being made into an animated movie. Josh is nominated for Best Writer at the upcoming Stumptown Comics Fest (April 28-29). As all great comic book stories go, we started with Josh’s origin story. Unlike comic book movies, however, we covered the origin story in 2 minutes rather than 2 hours. But Josh isn’t just interested in comic books. We covered our normal range of topics with Josh, always somehow coming back to Money’s dreaded topic. Money did come up with some very spot-on questions for Josh, Lance and Sean. Like, “does Orco, from He-Man, have legs?”, or “how did Casper die?”, and “who exactly is Archie’s villain?” We also found out why Portland is slowly becoming the hub for great comic book creators. How, do you ask, did we fit all this info in an hour-long podcast? We didn’t. That’s right, we recorded an hour and forty-five minutes. So get yourself a cup of coffee and sit in your favorite recliner, cause we’ll be in your head for a while. But let’s face it, it could be worse…you could be watching a Michael Bay movie.

Zombie Jesus

Our “Quest for Tacos” continues this week, as we try out a local bar called Blitz Pearl. We recap our Easter weekends, but mostly discuss if Jesus was a zombie or not, and how quite possibly he could be a certain Kryptonian named Kal-El. This week, we all pull a “Tucker”, since none of us can settle on one cartoon that we loved growing up. But, Lance wants to know what TV shows we’re all watching right now. Don't worry there are now spoilers, since Lance divulges the rules of when you're allowed to talk about shows on the internet. The only current show that Tucker watches is “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, since it’s the most like Seinfeld. Seeing a fatal flaw in his logic, Money quickly diverts the conversation to his S2000, and how like “It’s Always Sunny” is no closer to Seinfeld then his car is to a Miata. And lastly, spring is in the air, which means baseball season is upon us. We all throw down our early picks of who will win the World Series. Tell us what are the shows you’re currently watching. And what cartoons from your childhood are you fond of? Comment below!

My Deer Friend

We finally have the whole crew back together. Jeremy fills us in on his nuptials in Hawaii, along with his rolling brownouts. We had to expand our horizons and venture out to a new Taco Tuesday joint; one word, FAIL and the Quest continues. We all voice our opinions on the launch of Nike’s new NFL uniforms. Money finds fault with Seattle’s, but then again it is Seattle so it is to be expected. After the quick bash of Seattle, we flip flop to how great of a time we had there this weekend. Sean and Lance hit up the Emerald City Comic Con, while Money enjoys the finale of his birthday week. While at the party, Lance and Sean investigate the origins of the name Money and come up short. At the end of the night Money, Sean and Lance, along with countless other Seattlites, partake in a Seattle Late Night tradition and stuff their mouths full of Dick’s. Once we’ve finally beaten the dead horse so much it wouldn’t even come back as a zombie, we wrap up the night with reminiscing about past run-in’s with the Police. Do you have a good cop story? Let us know in the comment section below, and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

Monsieur Johnson

Join us this week as we enjoy the last taco night at the Candlelight and we start our “Quest for Tacos”. That’s right, in the name of public transportation, the city is demolishing our beloved taco spot to make room to extend the MAX to Milwaukie. Lance declares his candidacy on the ticket of the Extreme Meat Party, and he already has found two supporters. In other news, kickball has started back up again and we reminisce about the glory of our first win. Lance also explains his 3 rules for winning kickball games. As we celebrate the win, Money has more to celebrate this week…his birthday! After all the hype, Money’s birthday week is upon us. We get updated as to how it’s been going so far. And, March Madness is upon us, so we place our picks and Money celebrates his Division II School, the great Western Washington Vikings, winning their bracket. On the subject of school, we all look fondly back as to what our favorite classes were. What were some of yours? Let us know as you fondly listen to another episode of Taco Tiki Tuesday.
